PRHK Sets New Course with Updated Board and Strategic Vision for 2024-2025

September 05th 2024

PRHK, the leading association for public relations and communications professionals in Hong Kong, has appointed its new board for 2024/25. The year ahead will see PRHK continue to represent, champion, promote and grow the Hong Kong public relations and communications industry.

This year’s board welcomes six highly respected industry practitioners, bringing a wealth of experience across diverse sectors and specialties. Their fresh perspectives complement the continuity provided by the reappointment of twelve board and sub-committee members from the previous year. This blend of experience and innovation ensures a dynamic and well-rounded leadership for PRHK.

“We are committed to staying ahead of our ever-evolving communications industry,” says Carol Yeung, Chairperson of PRHK. “That’s why this year we are reviving the research committee, which will provide valuable insights for both agencies and in-house professionals, helping them understand industry trends and standards. Our board, comprised of practitioners, talent acquisition experts, and academia, ensures comprehensive representation and strengthens PRHK’s position as the leading association for public relations and communications professionals in Hong Kong.”

PRHK’s focus remains unchanged: the association is an enabler for active and emerging professionals to navigate the dynamic communications landscape of Hong Kong, while also supporting their members and the wider PR community to foster meaningful connections and facilitate knowledge sharing. Collaborating alongside members and external partners including industry thought leaders and academia, PRHK drives advocacy for the industry through a series of learning and networking events, viewpoints contribution, and case studies sharing to showcase innovation across a range of strategic communications programmes.

Engaging new generational talent has always been a high priority on the PRHK agenda. This will continue to be supported with initiatives including the Annual Hong Kong PR Young Lions Competition, as well as extensive engagement programmes with Hong Kong academic institutions and universities; from reviewing curriculums and guest lecturing to training programmes and internships, PRHK will support and nurture the next generation of industry professionals.

In light of the pressing climate risks, PRHK is committed to advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in the communications and marketing sector through its partnership with ReThink HK, Hong Kong’s best-attended sustainable business forum and solutions expo. This collaboration aims to deepen understanding of sustainability within the framework of “ReThinking Marketing and Communications.” By integrating ESG considerations into PRHK’s strategic initiatives, the association will advocate for responsible communication practices and equip industry professionals with insights into the broader sustainability landscape.

To unite the profession and diversify industry reach and participation, PRHK’s membership categories invite corporates (in-house teams), academics, affiliates, agencies, individual professionals and students to join.
